2023 Call for Nominations for Silvia Coradeschi and Gerhard K. Kraetzschmar Awards Prof. Silvia Coradeschi (d. Feb 5, 2014) was a founding trustee of RoboCup and an early visionary in the RoboCup initiative. She served as General Chair of RoboCup 1999 in Stockholm, Sweden, was a frequent competition participant, and was an exemplar of the RoboCup ideal of engaging in cutting-edge AI and Robotics research. Prof. Gerhard K. Kraetzschmar (d. July 24, 2019) joined RoboCup since its beginning in 1997 and significantly contributed to the development of the RoboCup Federation (Trustee since 2004, Vice-President from 2008 to 2016). He was involved in the organization of many of the leagues, with major contributions to RoboCupJunior, RoboCup@Home, and RoboCup@Work. He was General Chair of RoboCup 2016 in Leipzig, Germany. To honor their extraordinary contributions to RoboCup and to honor their memories, the RoboCup Federation created “The Silvia Coradeschi RoboCup Award” in 2014 (https://www.robocup.org/silvia_coradeschi <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.robocup.org_silvia…>), for a young female RoboCup student, with distinguishing research and the “Gerhard Kraetzschmar RoboCup Distinguished Service Award” in 2021 (https://www.robocup.org/gkk_award <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.robocup.org_gkk-5F…>), to recognize the outstanding contributions of an individual for his/her exceptional leadership, service, and dedication that benefit RoboCup in any of its leagues. The award recipients, to be named at RoboCup 2023 will receive: ● a certificate ● a US$1,000 honorarium Nominations for the “Silvia Coradeschi Award”: Eligible candidates for the “Silvia Coradeschi Award” are female graduate students and post-doctoral researchers who received the degree within the past 3 years and who will register for RoboCup 2023. The two criteria are: Distinguishing research as evidenced by, for example, refereed publications. RoboCup leadership, either within a team and/or in the broad RoboCup community. To nominate a female student for the “Silvia Coradeschi Award”, the student's professor should send a nominating email to <office(a)robocup.org <mailto:office@robocup.org>>, by June 9, 2023. The email must include a letter of recommendation that addresses both criteria. Dear colleagues, it is with great pleasure that we are inviting you to participate at this year edition of SCRITA workshop <http://scrita.herts.ac.uk>, that will be held in conjunction with RO-MAN 2023, in Busan, South Korea, August 28-31, 2023. The workshop will be open to a broad audience from academia and industry researching social robotics, machine learning, robot behavioural control, and user-profiling, but also experts from psychology and sociology insights and experiences from a multidisciplinary and human-focused point of view. In this year edition, we would like to continue exploring the challenges and dynamics between people and robots to foster short interactions and long-lasting relationships in different fields, from educational, service, collaborative, companion, care-home and medical robotics. BRACIS is one of the most important events in Brazil for researchers interested in publishing significant and novel results related to Artificial and Computational Intelligence. The Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS) originated from the combination of the two most important scientific events in Brazil in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Intelligence (CI): the Brazilian Symposium on Artificial Intelligence - SBIA (21 editions), and the Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks - SBRN (12 editions). The conference aims to promote theoretical aspects and applications of Artificial and Computational Intelligence and exchange scientific ideas among researchers, practitioners, scientists, and engineers. IMPORTANT DATES - Paper submission - May 21th, 2023 - Anywhere on Earth Timezone. - Notification to authors - July 29th, 2023. - Camera-ready copy due - August 10th, 2023. SPECIAL ISSUES Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended versions of their work to be appreciated for publication in special issues after the conference. SUBMISSION DETAILS *Please, note that BRACIS submission is double-blind* This means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not reveal their identity. Submissions should include significant and unpublished research on all aspects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Computational Intelligence (CI). Submitted papers must be written in English and not exceed 15 pages, including all tables, figures, references, and appendices. Formatting instructions, as well as templates for Word and LaTeX, are available at Conference Proceedings guidelines. Springer’s proceedings LaTeX templates are also available in Overleaf. Submissions must be made online using the JEMS system: https://jems.sbc.org.br/bracis2023 All submitted papers will be reviewed by at least three experts in the field. Accepted papers will be included in the BRACIS proceedings and submitted for publication in Springer in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) / Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series. Dear roboticists and AI researchers, we are pleased to present the call for expressions of interest in the Robot Exhibition of the 32nd International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (August 19–25, 2023, Macao, S.A.R). IJCAI23 will be a premier international gathering of researchers in AI, and the Robot Exhibition will run alongside the IJCAI23 combined technical program (https://ijcai-23.org/call-for-robot-exhibition/). Robots are a central focus of AI research and development, providing preeminent examples where cognitive skills (e.g., in perception, decision-making, control) are necessary to cope with complex tasks, and both naturalistic and controlled environments. On the one hand, developing intelligent robot systems involves challenging open research questions in AI. On the other hand, established AI methods are gaining increasing interest and applicability in various domains (e.g., industries, services, space) that involve robots alongside humans. This exhibition offers a prime space for exhibiting both achieved results and new opportunities for the development and use of AI in Robotics in the real world to a large audience of professional AI researchers from academia and industry. The exhibition seeks to involve both academic and industrial groups interested in the combination of AI and Robotics. The exhibition will thus provide an outstanding opportunity for universities, research organizations, and companies to showcase their research on the world stage. We invite expressions of interest for demonstrations of robotic systems, software, and tools that exploit AI methods and technologies, and that would be of interest to the broad AI community. Expressions of interest should include: A one-page description (in IJCAI format) of: ○ the proposing group/company, ○ the robotic technology to be demonstrated, ○ the relevance of this technology to AI. A video of up to two minutes demonstrating the system in action; the video should be at most 100MB, in mp4 format. Please include your title and authorship info in the opening of the video.
