Dear all, We hereby publish the First Call for Participation for RoboCup@Home 2027, which will take place from June 15 to June 21, 2027 in Nuremberg, Germany. RoboCup is an international scientific initiative with the goal to advance the state of the art of intelligent robots through competitions (RoboCup@Home, RoboCup Soccer, RoboCup Rescue, RoboCup@Work and RoboCup Junior). The RoboCup@Home league aims to develop service and assistive robot technology with high relevance for future personal domestic applications. It is the largest international annual competition for autonomous service robots and is part of the RoboCup initiative. A set of benchmark tests is used to evaluate the robots’ abilities and performance in a realistic home environment setting. Focus lies on the following domains but is not limited to: Human-Robot-Interaction and Cooperation, Navigation and Mapping in dynamic environments, Computer Vision and Object Recognition under natural light conditions, Object Manipulation, Adaptive Behaviors, Behavior Integration, Ambient Intelligence, Standardization and System Integration. RoboCup 2026 Wrap-Up

Hello everybody, With RoboCup 2026 in the rearview mirror I'd like to look back at all the performances and collect feedback so we can keep improving and make RoboCup 2027 in Nuremberg a great experience for everyone. To start, at this year's RoboCup it really felt like one big @Home community. I think we are at our best when we are competitive, care about the results and our robot's performances, and get excited for every single point, while not forgetting that a big part of RoboCup is sharing our progress, helping others, and being considerate. My feeling is that this year we found a great balance and I want to thank all of you for making that possible. For now, you can still find all the results on this page: https://johaq.github.io/robocup-home-redesign/competition?id=rc2026&from=hi… Hopefully, we can soon transition to the usual @Home domain. You can also find some statistics about the competition here: https://johaq.github.io/robocup-home-redesign/stats.html If you are interested in something more specific or would like data on something that is not displayed here, let me know and I'll see if we have that data collected. I would also like to remind you that as we transition the website I want to have as much of the historic RoboCup @Home data intact as possible along with the correct team information. I have already received some feedback which I will add shortly. But I am still missing: -Participation data for RoboCup before 2013 -Participation and results for any Mexican Opens -Participation and results for German Open before 2014 -Participation and results for Japan Open before 2018 If you have info on these, please let me know. This also applies to teams that did not participate in RoboCup this year. If you participated in one of the local opens you can still give us feedback on the tests and if you have not competed this year you can still give us general feedback. In the TC we are always looking to make more informed changes to the rules but it is just not possible to have every team perspective be heard in every meeting. We are also trying to make the process and discussions in the TC transparent to everyone. Recent advances in AI and learning create new opportunities for adaptation and cross-domain transfer, while safety, ethics, and benchmarking remain central concerns for responsible deployment. Please find the full CFP below: Overview: In November 2022, Cory Doctorow coined the term “enshittification” to viscerally describe the process by which two-sided marketplaces (i.e., platforms that connect buyers and sellers) have tended to degrade over the past decades, leading users on both sides of the market to experience a worse product. In its most basic form, enshittification describes the intentional decline of platform quality over time. Robots intended for home consumer use are often social in nature and use social interaction and relationship norms to keep users engaged. Turning such robots into two-sided market platforms, where users and advertisers both become targets of monetization, poses unique and significant risks. Unlike static smart or connected devices, social robots actively engage users via gaze, gesture, language, and dialog, which makes them uniquely persuasive forms of technology. This raises unique potential risks related to deception and manipulation of end-users. This symposium will not focus on enumerating potential negative outcomes; instead, we will use these examples to motivate and support methods that AI researchers in particular can use to address enshittification before it takes over the embodied AI and robotics fields. Dear Teams, We are writing to inform you that, as we have been informed of issues regarding information on shipping costs for the robots, the participation confirmation period has been extended until the 27th of February 2026. Teams that have already confirmed their participation but find that they need to withdraw due to unexpected issues with shipping costs may do so without penalty until the 27th of February as well. We hope this extension provides additional flexibility as you finalize your arrangements. A further extension, however, will be difficult, as we will need to know the number of teams we can assign a spot in the 2nd Call by the extended date. Dear all, We hereby publish the Second Call for Participation for RoboCup@Home 2026, which will take place from June 30 to July 6, 2026 in Incheon, South Korea. RoboCup is an international scientific initiative with the goal to advance the state of the art of intelligent robots through competitions (RoboCup@Home, RoboCup Soccer, RoboCup Rescue, RoboCup@Work and RoboCup Junior). The RoboCup@Home league aims to develop service and assistive robot technology with high relevance for future personal domestic applications. It is the largest international annual competition for autonomous service robots and is part of the RoboCup initiative. A set of benchmark tests is used to evaluate the robots’ abilities and performance in a realistic home environment setting. Focus lies on the following domains but is not limited to: Human-Robot-Interaction and Cooperation, Navigation and Mapping in dynamic environments, Computer Vision and Object Recognition under natural light conditions, Object Manipulation, Adaptive Behaviors, Behavior Integration, Ambient Intelligence, Standardization and System Integration. In a recent and exciting development, UR-RAD has partnered with the Quori social robot community! Select UR-RAD contributions relevant to the Quori community will be eligible for sponsored participation support to attend UR-RAD 2025! Please see the bottom of this CFP for more information. Note that ALL submissions, regardless of whether the authors request Quori participation support, will be subject to the same quality and review standards, submission dates, and submission types. Papers that have already been submitted are also eligible for participation support if the necessary requirements are met. ========================= General Symposium Information ========================= Capturing a desired task or interaction as a computational artifact (i.e., a representation) has long played a pivotal role in robotics. Many robotic subfields have traditionally employed a variety of different representational techniques, such as LTL, planning languages, social representations, natural language, and many more. These representations, however, lack cohesion in when and how they are applied. The 3rd Symposium on Unifying Representations for Robot Application Development (UR-RAD) therefore aims to increase interaction between junior and senior researchers, support in-progress research, and cultivate collaboration. We welcome paper submissions (long, short, or abstract-only) on Quori-relevant topics including, but not limited to: * Novel representations for social behavior: How might human-robot interactions be represented in a standardized way across open robot platforms, such as Quori? * Surveys or reflective analyses: What trends or insights from past social robotics work (including the social behaviors listed above) might shape the design of hardware, software, aesthetic, character, behaviors, etc.? * Standardized representations: What formalizations could support reusability and generalization between deployments of different models of social robots? * Stakeholders: Who are the intended users and developers of social robots like Quori, and how do their needs shape design of representations for application development? * End-user development and learning: In the advent of technology like large language models (LLMs) and foundation models, what robot behaviors should be manually authored vs. autonomously learned? However, the robotics industry is entering new challenges due to the emergence of innovative and intelligent robots designed for a wide range of applications. In particular, we are increasingly seeing the need for embodied AI agents that are able to engage, support and assist people with different needs, preferences and expectations across various aspects of life. To this extent, we want to invite students, young researchers and more experienced groups to participate in robot software and design competitions that will match today’s increasing demands. There are three categories: * Robot design Competition, where teams of students, young researchers can show their design innovative ideas * @HOME Competition, where teams of young and more experienced researchers can apply advanced techniques for solving real-world problems in a competition format. * @HOME Hackathon, where teams of students and young researchers can develop social behaviours for HRI in a hackathon format. The @HOME Competition will be organised in two days: 1. A set-up day on 10/09 will serve for teams to test and adjust their solutions 2. A competition day on 11/09 where teams will show their robotic solutions. The Robot design Competition will take place on the last day - 12th September 2025. The Hackathon will be organised in two days: 1. A Workshop on 10/09 morning for illustrating the basic functionalities of the robot platforms and how to program them 2. Guided development on 10/09 afternoon with instructors following the teams in the development of some baseline tasks 3. Competition day on 11/09, where teams will develop their solutions and then show them for evaluation. For each category, we will select the winners. The winners of the challenges will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on September the 12th, 2025. Submissions Each submission should have a (maximum) 2-page summary. The template is flexible; however, it should include a concise abstract/synopsis of a maximum of 50 words, and enough details to judge the technical novelty of the proposed solution and/or innovative applications of robots. A single link of related video can be included. Video link is optional, and the maximum duration of the video should be 3 minutes. Please remember that it is not a scientific publication, but the description of a robotics innovation with potential to be developed as a project. Competition chairs, with the help from experts and reviewers, will select the finalists. Each finalist is supposed to register and present their entry at a dedicated session in the conference, which will be further evaluated by the Jury of peers. In order to encourage interaction between junior and senior researchers, each paper accepted to UR-RAD 2025 (regardless of archival status or contribution type) has the option to be paired with an expert in the field, as a “mentor”. Paper authors who opt in, in addition to junior members of the community, will have the opportunity for extensive interaction with mentors, who will guide discussions about individual papers. However, the robotics industry is entering new challenges due to the emergence of innovative and intelligent robots designed for a wide range of applications. In particular, we are increasingly seeing the need for embodied AI agents that are able to engage, support and assist people with different needs, preferences and expectations across various aspects of life. To this extent, we want to invite students, young researchers and more experienced groups to participate in robot software and design competitions that will match today’s increasing demands. There are three categories: * Robot design Competition, where teams of students, young researchers can show their design innovative ideas * @HOME Competition, where teams of young and more experienced researchers can apply advanced techniques for solving real-world problems in a competition format. * @HOME Hackathon, where teams of students and young researchers can develop social behaviours for HRI in a hackathon format. The Competitions will be organised in two days: 1. A set-up day on 10/09 will serve for teams to test and adjust their solutions 2. A competition day on 11/09 where teams will show their robotic solutions. The Hackathon will be organised in two days: 1. A Workshop on 10/09 morning for illustrating the basic functionalities of the robot platforms and how to program them 2. Guided development on 10/09 afternoon with instructors following the teams in the development of some baseline tasks 3. Competition day on 11/09, where teams will develop their solutions and then show them for evaluation. For each category, we will select the winners. The winners of the challenges will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on September the 12th, 2025. Submissions Each submission should have a (maximum) 2-page summary. The template is flexible; however, it should include a concise abstract/synopsis of a maximum of 50 words, and enough details to judge the technical novelty of the proposed solution and/or innovative applications of robots. A single link of related video can be included. Video link is optional, and the maximum duration of the video should be 3 minutes. Please remember that it is not a scientific publication, but the description of a robotics innovation with potential to be developed as a project. Competition chairs, with the help from experts and reviewers, will select the finalists. Each finalist is supposed to register and present their entry at a dedicated session in the conference, which will be further evaluated by the Jury of peers.
