Hello RoboCup Rescue Robot Team Leaders!
We are looking forward to a great 2023 RoboCup Rescue. Several months
ago, you were asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding your thoughts
and concerns regarding the league. The Trustees, Executive, Technical,
Organization Committee took the suggestions very seriously and have had
several meetings to discuss.
We would like to organize the first of several online discussions with
team leaders. The tentative agenda:
* Information on results from the poll to team leaders
* Status of action taken so far and plans for 2023 developed in our
group
* Feedback from team leaders and discussion
Please fill out the doddle poll:
https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/bk2VKgva to select the day and
time that works best for you!
Please kindly respond by no later than Feb. 14
Have a great day.

Call for participation: RoboCup Rescue German Open 2023 – DRZ Edition (April 24-27, 2023)
Dear RoboCup Rescue Robot League Teams,
We are happy to announce the upcoming RoboCup German Open 2023 Rescue Robot League Competition – DRZ Edition. The rescue robotics competition will be based on the most recent Rules of the RoboCup Rescue Robot League and complemented by tasks derived from end user missions. Artificial limited network capabilities will again be part of the competition, so autonomous functions might help to complete the tasks.
As in 2021 and 2022 the competition will be hosted by the non-profit German Rescue Robotics Center (DRZ), https://www.rescuerobotics.eu, in its large and well equipped testing facility, which is located in Dortmund. The event will be organized by DRZ together with RoboCup Rescue representatives of the German RoboCup regional committee.
Dortmund is about 2.5 h by train from Frankfurt International Airport and 1.5 h by train from Düsseldorf International Airport.
Schedule:
- Registration: until March 13th, 2023
- Setup days for participating teams: Sunday, April 23rd (afternoon) and Monday, April 24th, 2023
- Competitions: Tuesday, April 25th, and Wednesday, April 26th
- Finals: Thursday, April 27th
A registration fee will be required for participation. More information including the rules will soon be available at https://rettungsrobotik.de/robocup-rescue-german-open-2023.
The event will only be open to participants, organizers and press. Media coverage as well as live streaming of the finals are being considered for the public. We are excited about this opportunity for the RoboCup Rescue Robot League and would be happy to meet as many of you as possible on this occasion in Dortmund!
The maximum number of teams and participants is limited. We already have a couple of interested teams. Teams will be registered on a first come first serve basis.
If you consider participating, we kindly ask you to register by March 13th, 2023 by sending an email to rescue-chairs(a)robocup.de. Please send the team name, your country, your affiliation, the number of team members (including the team leader) and full contact information (name, email, phone number and address) of the team leader.
If there are any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Johannes Pellenz and Stefan May

Dear RoboCupRescue Robot League (RRL) Team Leaders and Team Members,
This is a gentle reminder to provide a) your general feedback to the RRL
and b) proposals for new tests for rule advancement via the two online
forms not later than
November 10, 2022.
All feedback received by this deadline will be considered by the RRL
Committee in the meeting on Nov 14. Of course, new ideas are welcome
anytime, but will likely be considered only later.
Best regards,
Oskar

> The RoboCupRescue Robot League invites you to contribute to the advancement of rules by proposing new tests for future years! We fully realize that the current roster of tests may not cater to all relevant research goals of your team, so if you feel that your research interest isn't yet well represented, now is your chance to change that!

No prior experience in test designing is needed - as long as you have expertise in the capability that is being tested, we'll help you through the process!
