The RoboCup symposium is an annual event in which innovative, original research with relevance to areas of robotics and artificial intelligence is presented. The Symposium Program Co-Chairs would like to facilitate the organization of satellite workshops, focus groups, roundtable discussions, and other events that are related to RoboCup itself or the general aim of the RoboCup Symposium. This includes league-specific discussions about rules and/or roadmaps, shared infrastructure projects between leagues, as well as scientific workshops focusing on a particular research topic, among others. League committee members, as well as teams or individuals from RoboCup leagues participating in the Symposium, are invited to submit their proposals. The organizers of a satellite event are free to propose events between 2 and 8 hours in length to be held during or a day after the RoboCup Symposium (17 or 18 July) in a fully virtual, hybrid, or fully local format. IMPORTANT DATES =============== Submission of satellite events: 3 April 2022 Notification to authors: 25 April 2022 Satellite Events: 17 or 18 July 2022 (RoboCup 2022: 11-17 July 2022) SUBMISSION AND PROCEEDINGS ========================== Proposals will be evaluated by the Symposium Program Co-Chairs based on their thematic relevance to the RoboCup Symposium as well as their proposed schedule and required resources. Satellite events will not be included in the RoboCup Symposium proceedings. Proposals should be formatted following the LNAI author guidelines [0] and must be electronically submitted through the EasyChair electronic submission system [1]. Please follow the LaTeX template created by us by either downloading the template file [2] or by creating a private copy of this Overleaf template [3]. Submissions are limited to a 4-page extended abstract, excluding references. Each submission must include the following sections: * Name of the satellite event * A description of the format (e.g., discussion group, workshop, tutorial, invited talks, ...) and intended length of the event * Prefered date and time of the event (17 or 18; morning or afternoon, or the whole day [no lunch will be provided unless it’s on the 17th]) * A description of the content and aim of the satellite event * Names and contacts of all members of the organizing committee/group with one clearly marked person as the corresponding member of the organizing committee * The intended audience and the number of participants expected * Any resources required to organize the workshop After the acceptance of their proposal, organizers are expected to create a short description of their event as well as a website providing further information which will both be linked from the RoboCup symposium page on the RoboCup 2022 website. Hi 3D Soccer Simulation Teams, This is Kenji from ROS Sports, we are pleased to announce that a ROS2 agent interface to the RoboCup 3D Soccer Simulator <https://rcss3d-agent.readthedocs.io/en/latest/> is now in an alpha release stage! [image: :partying_face:] The motivation behind the ROS2 interface for the Rcss3d Agent is to ease the entry-barrier for the 3d simulation league, and allow the simulator to be reused for other leagues in RoboCup. GIFs are worth a thousand words. It's this easy to interact with an agent in the simulator! Teams from other leagues such as the humanoid league or SPL, can use the general library to implement their own pub/sub layer to convert the simulator-specific msgs to their own msgs of choice. *Why should you use this package *over continuing to use your own implementation? - *Reduce codebase size and maintenance cost**. Who doesn't like reducing the maintenance cost of their codebase?* - *Encourages contributions to outside the 3d simulation league domain. ** For example, why can't an inverse kinematics library developed in 3d-sim be reused in all Nao applications?* We are actively looking for teams to work with and test out the packages. Research Project Learning Setplays from Demonstration - Call for Contributions

Hi, We have been working in the last years on a project in our lab named "Learning Setplays from Demonstration." The main goal of this project is to provide evidence that we can catch human's intuitive knowledge in a domain and use it to feed a massive dataset for robots to learn how to cooperate to solve problems in this domain. At this time, we are gathering contributions worldwide to populate the dataset. So we ask your contribution in the following way: 1- Watch some robot soccer games 2- Locate situations where you think you can demonstrate a setplay for a team to perform better in that situation 3-Create your demonstration 4- Send us several demonstrations To turn it easier for you, we have developed the BahiaRT's Learning Setplays from Demonstration Toolkit that encapsulates in Docker containers all tools you need to watch games and create setplays demonstrations. Also, up to six slots will be assigned in priority to new teams. In RoboCup 2022, up to 24 teams will participate in the 3D Soccer Simulation competition. The top three teams from RoboCup 2021 (UT Austin Villa, magmaOffenburg, Apollo3D) are automatically qualified after submitting an appropriate Team Description Paper (TDP). The other 21 teams will be selected through a qualification process. The qualification deadline is the 28th of February 2022. Qualification material consists of: 1. Team Description Paper (TDP) The TDP should describe your research focus and ideas implemented in the team. It should clearly describe your own work and your contributions in addition to explicitly specifying what you have used from others’ efforts (including, but not limited to, any source code released by other teams or their scientific work). In qualification, teams must be judged based on their own work, so failing to acknowledge the work of others could result in immediate disqualification. The length of the TDP must be at least four (4) pages and should not exceed twelve (12) pages in Springer LNCS Style. <https://www.springer.com/gp/computer-science/lncs/conference-proceedings-gu…> Please submit the TDP only as a PDF document, with the name of your team in the filename, i.e. Teamname_TDP.pdf . 2. A List of Publications and Achievements on previous RoboCup Symposia and in other relevant international journals and conferences. If you are new to the RoboCup 3D community, you may also include references to relevant research done by your team that shows its potential. Please submit the contribution list as a PDF document, with the name of your team in the filename, i.e. Teamname_list.pdf . 3. Binary All teams should submit a working binary of their team. The OC will use these binaries to play 11 vs 11 matches, under the rules and with the simulator used during the 2021 competitions <https://ssim.robocup.org/3d-simulation/3d-rules/>. Submitted binaries should adhere to the following: – Two scripts should be included: a startup script, called start.sh, to run a full team of agents, and a kill script, called kill.sh, to fully kill all agents of the team. The OC will not make an effort to install extra libraries on the qualification systems. A Java runtime can be assumed to be available. – The binaries should not create any output, be it through standard output or to files and no graphical (debugging) interface should be used. – The binary should be compiled for 64 bit systems and should work on a modern GNU/Linux distribution, such as Ubuntu 18.04. You may also send 32-bit binaries, but it is your responsibility to make sure that it runs correctly on 64-bit distributions. You can assume that basic 32-bit libraries (e.g. libc) are installed on the 64 bit OS. To summarize: the binary should run out of the box on a standard, clean, headless system in a restricted sandbox environment with the simulation server (possibly) running on a different machine. The OC will not try to fix errors. When a binary fails to run, the respective team will be notified and will have to resubmit their material, before the deadline. You should upload only one file including all your qualification materials. If everything works fine, you will receive a confirmation.
