PhD Position in Robot Offroad navigation
My team is looking for a skilled and motivated PhD student for a new project in the area of robot navigation in the wild. The research is related to safe navigation of a dynamically configurable robot on hiking trails and mule tracks. Moreover, we are interested in novel sensor setups and perception approaches to allow navigation during all seasons and weather conditions.
Your Responsibilities:
* Further development of navigation methods in the context of perception, planning, and control for robots in challenging off-road environments such as trails and mule tracks * Conducting and analyzing field tests * Writing scientific publications * Contributing to current and future project proposals
Your Profile
* Completed Master's or Diploma Degree in Robotics, Control Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or completion of an equivalent degree from a university or college.
Desired Qualification
* Experience with Autonomous Mobile Robots * Experience with Automated Navigation in Off-road Applications * Experience with Vehicle Control Systems * Experience with Machine Learning in the Field of Perception and Control * Experience with Software Development for Robotic Systems (especially with ROS) * Social, Communication, and Didactic Competence * Team Player * Very good written and spoken English
