Dear all,
during the RoboCup 2022 we extended the repository with ROS2 code with two new examples:
* Obstacle Avoidance based on sonar
* Advanced Obstacle Avoidance based on the depth camera.
This two examples are including two open assignments.

Robots Conquer the Underground: What Darpa's Subterranean Challenge Means for the Future of Autonomous Robots | IEEE Journals & Magazine | IEEE Xplore<https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9771355>
Deep below the Louisville, Ky., zoo lies a network of enormous caverns carved out of limestone. The caverns are dark. They're dusty. They're humid. And during one week in September 2021, they were full of the most sophisticated robots in the world. The robots (along with their human teammates) were there to tackle a massive underground course designed by DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research ...

I was not only impressed by the map created by Team CSIRO Data61 (Fig 3), but also found this Q&A very relevant for our competition:
Q: Autononomy is a necesary part of SubT, but having a human in the loop was critical as well. Do you think taht humans will continue to be a necessary part of effectictive robotic teams, or is full autonomy the future.
A: Early in the competition, we saw a lot of hand-holding, with humans giving low-level commands. But teams quickly realized that they neeeded a more autonomous approach. Full autonomy is hard, though, and I think humans will continue to play a pretty big role, just a role that needs to evolve and chane into something that focuses on waht humans do best.
....
I hope that this inspires you.

VENUE
The main conference will take place in Genova Nervi, Italy, in the Collegio Emiliani (http://www.collegioemiliani.it/, information available only in Italian on this link), which is a college directly situated on the sea. Nervi is a former fishing village, now a suburb of Genoa. Nervi is 7 km east of central Genova. Genova is the capital of Liguria, stretching along the bay of the same name from Nervi to the east as far as Voltri to the west. The pride of Nervi is the sea promenade, a 2 km walkway along the cliffs. The stunning views make it one of Italy's most beautiful promenades. Nervi is also well known for its Parchi, a park of about 22 acres (9 hectares) created from the gardens of the Villa Grimaldi, Villa Groppallo, and Villa Serra. It has typical Mediterranean plant species and many exotic species. Genova's old town district (reachable by local train, by bus, as well as by boat) is one of the largest in Europe, and hosts some remarkable artistic and architectural treasures, including the Palazzi dei Rolli, fifty or so homes of the aristocracy entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In addition to offering a wealth of cultural attractions, Genova is a fascinating destination for tourists, with its scenic vantage points, sea promenades, aristocratic villas and of course the Riviera to the east and west, both easy to reach: Portovenere and Le Cinque Terre (also UNESCO World Heritage Sites), Portofino and Camogli to the east and Alassio, Sanremo, Bordighera to the west.
Associated events (workshops) are planned to be held at the University, which is in the city center of Genova.
Of course, we will continuously monitor the pandemic situation in order to evaluate whether the conference can be indeed held as an in-person event, or we will need to switch to a hybrid event, if not completely on-line.

Important Dates
------------
Paper submission deadline: March 1, 2022
Notification of acceptance: April 1, 2022
Submission of camera-ready version: end of April, 2022
Overview
------------
Robots are agents, too. Indeed, AAMAS researchers are sometimes inspired by robots, sometimes use robots in motivating examples, and sometimes make contributions to robotics. Both practical and analytical techniques in AAMAS influence, and are being influenced by, research into autonomous robots and multi-robot systems.
Areas of particular recent cross-fertilization include (but are not limited to):
- market-based methods for coalition formation and task allocation
- machine learning in single- and multi-robot (agent) settings
- human-robot interaction
- multi-robot teamwork
- single- and multi-robot path planning
- human-robot (agent) teamwork
- game-theoretic coordination
- analysis of large-scale multi-robot systems and swarms
- decision-theoretic single- and multi-robot (agent) planning
- imitation and learning by demonstration/example
Despite the rich cross-fertilization between AAMAS and robotics research areas, roboticists and agents researchers have only few opportunities to meet and interact. The Area of Interest – Robotics at AAMAS (formerly, Robotics Track) is one such opportunity.
The goal of the workshop is to extend and widen this opportunity, by offering a forum where researchers in this field of study can interact and present promising innovative research directions and new results with the goal of discussing and comparing ideas and approaches.
The workshop is coordinated and associated with the AAMAS Area of Interest – Robotics to fast-track all papers accepted as extended abstracts at the main conference into the ARMS workshop.
Submissions and Publication
-----------------------------------
The submission website is
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=arms2022
Contributions are sought in all areas of robotics, in particular as related to autonomous agents research, but not necessarily so.
Theoretical papers are welcome, as long as they clearly address challenges in robotics. Empirical studies should ideally present experiments with real robots, though physical simulation studies are also acceptable. Papers that focus on mechanical aspects and low-level control should make an effort to relate to the agents community.
We particularly welcome papers with accompanying demos of real robots, which can come as recorded videos (please use YouTube or general-purpose repositories to share the video if it is ready at submission time) or as live demos from the authors' labs during the workshop.
Submissions should follow Springer's LNCS format (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html for instructions, or directly download the LaTeX style file: ftp://ftp.springernature.com/cs-proceeding/llncs/llncs2e.zip).
Papers should not exceed 20 pages in length.
Papers will be reviewed by at least 2 reviewers. Criteria for selection of papers will include: originality, readability, relevance to workshop themes, soundness, and overall quality.
Papers do not have to be anonymized: We do not follow a double-blind review process.
Also this year, there will not be archival proceedings, but papers will be made available to the workshop participants.
Fast-Track Review Process
---------------------------------
As part of our close coordination with the AAMAS Area of Interest — Robotics, we offer a fast-track review process to papers that have been accepted as extended abstracts ("short papers”) to the AAMAS conference, in the topic of Area of Interest — Robotics or with a robotics keyword. For such papers, please include the original AAMAS paper number with the submission.

Dear RoboCup Rescue Teams and developers
Please take one minute to complete this survey, which will help with our
future planning.
This survey aims to gather Rescue Agent Simulation teams and developers
feedback concerning the use of fires in the scenarios for the RoboCup
Rescue Simulation League (RSL) competitions.
Extinguishing fire was one of the challenges of the RSL competitions until
2020, but fires had been removed from the scenarios of the 2021
competitions.
The committee members would like to hear what you think about scenarios
with NO FIRE based on your experience in the 2021 competitions.
To participate in this survey, please fill-up the form on this link:
