Dear Local Organizing Committee,
Thank you very much for all your efforts in making RoboCup 2026 a success! I am writing to you as a member of the Technical Committee of the Humanoid Soccer League with a few questions regarding the pitch layout. Background: We are preparing cameras to record all matches on the 12 pitches and to provide a live YouTube stream for each pitch. These cameras must be mounted at the side of the pitch at a height of 2.5 to 3 m. For this we have specified in the HSL requirements document one ‘lighting pole/mast + base (approx. 2.5 m high, 30–35 mm in diameter)’ per pitch.
Question 1: We would like to ensure that these lighting poles are actually in place, one per pitch, i.e. a total of 12 lighting poles. Can you confirm that these masts are in place or will be in place?
Question 2: We have heard that there will be nets to separate the playing fields from one another. Given the force with which the new robots can shoot a ball, it may also be necessary to protect our cameras. Could you send us some images of the venue set-up (if already available)? We would like to know whether and how we can protect our cameras from being struck by high-speed balls.
Thank you very much and best regards, Thomas
