Dear RoboCup 2023 Standard Platform League Technical Committee and SPL teams,
We are team BadgerBots, a new SPL team from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the B-Human code release 2022 license, we wish to announce the use of B-Human’s 2022 code release.
Our codebase is built upon B-Human’s codebase infrastructure and uses B-Human modules for walking, perception, Skills and Cards behavior architecture, whistle recognition, and simulation tools.
Our main original contribution is the development of team coordination, strategy and individual robot behaviors using deep reinforcement learning, including necessary code for learning these behaviors and appropriate safety layers for the robot’s decisions. Additionally we use our own dynamic role switching code.
We wish to thank B-Human for releasing their code which has been invaluable for enabling a first-time team to participate in RoboCup SPL. We further wish to thank members of the B-Human team for supporting our use and providing guidance on the use of their code.
Kind regards, Josiah Hanna -- BadgerBots Team Leader
