Hello SPL Teams,
We, the exec, would like to provide clarity on teams publishing data sets that have been collected at competition, such as, data sets containing audio/video logged from robots during competition games. In consultation with the Trustees, we are able to advise that teams are able to publish such data sets. The data sets may include recordings of participants and audience. Competition participants during registration, and public visitors when purchasing ticket, consent that they may be recorded, and consent that such recordings made available through team materials.
In publishing data sets, we would encourage teams to consider taking additional steps such as:
* Processing and curating the data set for potential inappropriate content, which could include: * Screening of sound to remove inadvertent identifying (or embarrassing) audio. * Blurring faces of people in videos, especially children. * Providing a mechanism by which people could request to be removed from the data set.
Kind Regards, Timothy Wiley On behalf of the RoboCup Soccer SPL Executive Committee.
