Dear all,
During the German Open and the Japan Open the TC has gained some
experience with the new rules. We have made some minor changes since the
_DRAFT version, please have a look at it.
Also, on the website ( http://www.robocupathome.org ) you can find,
besides the rule book (
http://www.robocupathome.org/documents/rulebook2010_FINAL_VERSION.pdf ),
a pdf file with the score sheets that we will use in Singapore. Last but
not least, there is also a downloadable text file with some examples for
the General Purpose Test. These examples are not the complete list of
possibilities that the software which generates these sentences can
create, so other combinations, other words and other syntactic
structures are possible.
I would also like to remind you of the following:
*The robot-inspection-poster-presentation (RIPS) will start on 20th of
June at 1500h.
*
If you do not participate in the RIPS for any reason, we will still have
to inspect the robot(s) before participation. Also, the TC is allowed to
inspect the robots at all times. We have a very strong focus on safety
this year, since both the Follow Me test and the Supermarket test will
be held in public areas. To be certain that all goes well, the safety
rules stated at the end of this email. Please read them carefully.
We hope you have a good trip to Singapore and we're looking forward to
the competition.

3.6.1 Safety Frst!
The speed of the robots should ensure safe operation. This means that
the robot is not
allowed to go faster than the local speed limits. During operation in an
environment with
humans it may not exceed a walking pace of humans (6 kph, 3.7 mph).
At any time when operating the robot inside and outside the scenario the
owners have to
stop the robot immediately if there is a remote possibility of dangerous
behavior towards
people and/or objects. If a referee, member of the Technical or
Organizational committee,
an Executive or Trustee of the federation tells the team to stop the
robot, there will be
no discussion and the robot has to be stopped _immediately_.
If the team does not comply, the team and its members can be excluded
from the ongoing
competition immediately by a decision of the RoboCup at Home Technical
Committee.
Furthermore, the team and its members can be banned from future
competitions for a
period not less than a year by a decision of the RoboCup Federation
Trustee Board.
